“Our teachers, coaches, principals, counselors and school district employees are the lifeblood of our education system, and guaranteeing they have the tools and resources necessary to educate and motivate students is of the upmost importance to me as a CCISD Trustee,” said Janie Bell, president of the CCISD School Board. “I am extremely grateful to both ATPE and C-CAUSE for their support of my candidacy, and I look forward to continuing to work together to improve education in our community.”

“C-CAUSE is proud to endorse Janie Bell for the CCISD School Board,” said Susie Luna Saldana, president of the C-CAUSE United Teachers & School Employees. “Janie has consistently voted to help teachers, school employees and the community. We could not have a better representative for our children.”

Jackie Hannenbaum, president of the Corpus Christi Chapter of ATPE, echoed C-CAUSE’s support, citing several beneficial changes that have occurred during Janie’s tenure as key factors behind ATPE’s endorsement.

“As CCISD Trustee, Janie fought to raise teacher salaries in order to retain and recruit top educators for CCISD schools while cutting administrative costs to keep more resources in the classroom,” said Hannenbaum. “She has consistently worked with teachers and school employees to find ways to strengthen academic programs and curriculums, which has resulted in improved test scores district wide.”

“Janie is the best candidate for the CCISD Board of Trustees,” Hannenbaum continued. “She believes in the CCISD administrators, staff, students and parents, and the importance of collaboration to achieve a higher quality of education for our students.”

As president of the CCISD School Board, Janie has helped lead the district into a new era of higher test scores and new, safer schools for our kids. Since her election four years ago, the district has seen a significant reduction in the number underperforming schools. To date, over half of CCISD schools have been awarded academic distinctions.
