Corpus Christi Residents Get Ready To Push Cruise Ship Development

13962688_10103145279496641_2904314644997595659_nCorpus Christi civic leaders, tourism officials and supporters rallied early to prepare for a Joint Interim Committee On Cruise Ship Development in a downtown office building recently.

The group had answered a call from State Rep. Todd Hunter, R-Corpus Christi, to get ready for the hearing which will be held Thursday, August 25th at 10am to discuss the potential economic benefits of establishing a cruise ship industry in South Texas. The committee was formed as a result of House Concurrent Resolution 108 by Hunter.

Nueces County Republicans Help Out Neighboring Kleberg In Young County Chair’s First Fundraising Effort

14034923_285258305176216_981690125918375487_nTwenty-five year old GOP Party Chair Brandon Barrera has just begun his first term as the newly elected head of the Kleberg County Republican Party.

He’s having to learn fast.

Kleberg County which includes most of the King Ranch and the Kingsville Naval Air Station, is becoming one of the state’s southern most swing counties where both Democrats and Republicans have a chance to win local elections.

And Barrera, who may well be the state’s youngest Republican county chair, is learning the importance of building coalitions and making friends.
